You are in control

You are in control

Seek more mindfulness and less idleness. You, and only you, are in control of your destiny, your life. If you are looking for a better life, then take full responsibility for your future.

1.     Take full control of your personal finances.
Mind your income and your expenses.
2.     Take full control of your education.
Mind the books you read and the people you associate with.
3.     Take full control of your spiritual life.
Mind your prayer life.
4.     Take full control of your relationships.
Mind the quality of the interactions with others.
5.     Take full control of your professional life.
Mind how you perform your work.
6.     Take full control of your health and wellness.
Mind what goes into your mind and your body.
7.     Take full control of your time.
Mind your priorities more than your obligations.

A dream or a dread?

Why I am NOT living the life I always wanted?

If you feel you are working more and harder, you are not alone, most workers feel just like you do. If you feel you are just going through the daily grind, getting tired and not getting ahead in life, you are not alone; many people are feeling just like you, trapped in the financial matrix, in the gerbil wheel, running faster and faster going nowhere. If you feel you are not living the life you imagined when you were young, you are not alone, many people feel the same way. Here is what I found. Read the following, think about it, and identify the reasons you feel the way you do. Could it be that:

1.     I don’t have a dream. The majority of people do not have clear and written dreams; they just have fantasies. Take the time to define your dreams. Write them down, keep them in front of you, and picture them as being part of your daily life.

2.     My dream is not big enough. A dream has to be big enough to exert a pull on you. It has to be bigger than the obstacles you are going to face during your journey. Material things are not big enough to propel you forward. Leaving a family legacy for generations to come exerts a much stronger pull on you.

3.      I don’t have a dread. A dread is something you are running from, something you would like to get away from, like working in a job you don’t like. Dreads make you upset. Dreads can exert a very strong pull on you.

4.     My dread is not big enough. We can never change what we can tolerate. Ask yourself the question – why am I tolerating my situation? Things only change when we are no longer willing to accept our dread.

5.     My ego is on the way. The road to failure is paved with man buried in their egos. Kill your ego, bury it, and move on with your life.

6.     My pride is on the way. Pride prevents people from living their purpose. Give credit away since most likely it belongs to someone else anyway. In the interconnected world we live in today, success only comes from recognizing how many people helped us to succeed.

7.     I am not living my priorities. Most people live by their obligations and not by their priorities because of the six reasons above. Ask the right questions when making decisions, make the right decisions, and manage your decisions. Think long term, delay gratification, and be patient enough to leverage the power of compounding.

Hope the above helps you to change the course of your life.

Can you see it?

Can you see what is happening?

We all go through difficult situations and obstacles in our lives. It’s easy to fall into the trap of becoming a victim of what is happening to you. The question for you is – can you see the big picture, the big story being created and unfolding in your life? Here are the 7 nuggets for you to deal with unusually big obstacles.

1.      Turn those ugly and deeply sad situations around. We as humans have amazing resilience and ability to overcome what seem insurmountable obstacles. The facts don’t matter when dealing with a winner!
2.      Only listen to those who have made it. Refuse to listen to the members of pity parties, those thinking that guilt is a strategy. Refuse to listen to those feeding on your misfortunes, those making a living from telling you how unfair life has been to you. Run from them like you run from a plague.
3.      Gratitude has the power to overpower any pain. We only find ourselves when we are willing to lose ourselves in the service of others. You think you got it tough, get out of your small world so you can appreciate the real world.
4.      Faith has the power to overpower any fear. God want to know if you are ready to make the move. What are you waiting for?
5.      Things don’t happen to us, they happen for us. Develop the uncommon ability to deal with any obstacle with that “bring it on” attitude of a real champion.
6.      Grow up. Our capacity to grow is directly proportional to the actions we take against the things that scare the heck out of us. Why are you letting the comforts win over your courage?
7.      Become an example of courage for others. Create a beautiful masterpiece using the ugly things thrown at you as you live your live.
