A storm may come with the rain!

7 DAILY NUGETS:
A storm may come with the rain!
1) Are you prepared for the storm so you can get the benefits from the rain?
2) Success is hard in anything and everything. If you want rain expect you may get wet.
3) Submitted yourself to the laws and principles of nature; violating them gets you in a storm without protection.
4) The best protection against a storm is a healthy you. Success comes from the right information, repeated and applied.
5) Are you just dabbling or taking your purpose seriously no matter what storms come your way?
6) If you wait to be told what to do you may get caught in the storm without a shield.
7) Expect big things from your life. The calm always comes after the storm.

Are you living the life you always wanted?

Are you living the life you always wanted?
7 DAILY NUGGETS
1) Rediscover the art of true vacation. If you need a vacation after the vacation you did not vacation.
2) Never lose the sense of wonder. Dream, discover, create, and invent.
3) Leave the rat race and start running your own race. Problem with the rat race is that no matter how fast you run you are still a rat.
4) Get control of your finances or they will control you. Get rid of all bad debts.
5) Spend your energies in your priorities not your obligations. Watch for distractions and procrastinations.
6) Choose to be wealthy instead of having to be right all the time. Direct your energy into actions that produces results.
7) If you are working just to pay the bills and waiting for your chance, you are coasting. Winners take the chance.

WE REAP WHAT WE SOW

7-26-12            7 DAILY NUGGETS
WE REAP WHAT WE SOW
We all want a bountiful harvest at the farm or at any endeavor we pursue.
What do we need to do to harvest what we plant?
1 Perspective - Is your energy channeled properly? Know why you do what you do.
2 Planning - Failing to plan is failing to perform. Set your plans on sand and your goals on stone.
3 Preparation – When time to plant comes, will you be prepared? Success comes when opportunity and preparedness meet.
4 Planting – Will the seeds be placed on fertile ground? Planting require the utmost attention.
5 Prevention – Can you imagine preventing most of the problems we face? Performance would certainly soar.
6 Protection – Are you watching the eggs in your basket? This is important from raising kids to any investment we make. Still, there is no guarantee in reaping a bountiful harvest.
7 Performance – Are you excited before harvest time? The rewards for all the hard work pays off in a grand scale.
Go forth and sow nuggets of wisdom in the hearts of others. Blessings, Carlos Fontana

The Power of Reflection

7 DAILY NUGGETS: The Power of Reflection:  1 Why do we value quick reaction more than deliberate reflection? 2 How often do you pause to consider where you are or where you really want to go? 3 Reflection is fundamental for living an engaging life, 4 Do you take positive energy and passion with you everywhere you go? 5 Are you fully engaged in life or just getting by? 6 We are complex energy systems with four (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual) connected components/engines producing or sapping energy, 7 How fine-tuned are your engines when it comes to producing the energy needed to succeed in this interconnected and demanding world we live in? Time for action is NOW!

Warren Buffett, in a recent interview with CNBC, offers one of the best quotes about the debt ceiling:
"I could end the deficit in 5 minutes," he told CNBC. "You just
pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more
than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible
for re-election.
The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds)
took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple!
The people demanded it. That was in 1971 - before computers, e-mail,
cell phones, etc.
Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took one (1) year
or less to become the law of the land - all because of public pressure.
Warren Buffet is asking each addressee to forward this email to
a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask
each of those to do likewise.
In three days, most people in The United States of America will
have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed
around.
Congressional Reform Act of 2012
1. No Tenure / No Pension.
A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no
pay when they're out of office.
2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social
Security.
All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the
Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow in to the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the
American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.
3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all
Americans do.
4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise.
Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.
5. Congress loses their current health care system and
participates in the same health care system as the American people.
6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the
American people.
7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void
effective 12/1/12. The American people did not make this
contract with Congressmen/women.
Congress made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in
Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers
envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their
term(s), then go home and back to work.
If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will
only take three days for most people (in the U.S. ) to receive
the message. Don't you think it's time?
THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS!
If you agree, pass it on. If not, delete.
You are one of my 20+ - Please keep it going, and thanks

Reacting or Responding?

7 DAILY NUGGETS: Reacting or Responding? 1 Turn rejection into positive energy to achieve real results, 2 Turn any relational pain into positive energy by resolving the conflicts in your life, 3  We all have the ability to rise above being offended, 4 If another person has done something great so can you and if never done, be the 1st to do it, 5 Success attract enemies, learn all you can from them, 6 Be the first to apologize and apologize the most, 7 All people skills required to live a great life can be learned (be interested in other people, smile, remember their names, listen, speak of their interests, make them feel important). Blessings, Carlos Fontana

Is Changing Necessary?

7 DAILY NUGGETS: Is changing necessary? 1 Change is hard but necessary for survival; fighting change is like fighting traffic by going in reverse in a busy four lane highway, 2 A single event can start a chain of positive life long changes, 3 Change event>change in attitude>change in behavior>change in performance>change in results, 4 We can only grow through adversity and change; just like our muscle fibers, 5 When we expect great things from ourselves we experience a sense of purpose and better deal with change, 6 Those that welcome and embrace change live lives of no excuses and no regrets since they learn how to take shots from critics, 7 It is in the dark conditions of life that we can discover our bright futures. Blessings, Carlos Fontana

Swimming against the current

7 DAILY NUGGETS: Swimming against the current is tough and uncomfortable at first yet necessary to build strength until others join the cause to change the current in the opposite/right direction. 1 People may tear down what you build; build anyway, 2 People may shoot you down for thinking big; think big anyway, 3 Honesty makes you vulnerable; be honest anyway, 4 The good you do may be quickly forgotten; do good anyway, 5 For the good you do you may be accused of selfish motives; do good anyway, 6 People are self-centered, selfish and egotistical, love them anyway, 7 People needing help may attack you, help them anyway. Blessings, Carlos Fontana

Why are we so FEARFUL?

7 DAILY NUGGETS: FEAR is False Evidence Appearing Real: 1 Failure is necessary in order to accomplish anything in life, 2 Failure to keep the mind engaged causes the loss of memory, 3 Use failures to get better step by step, little by little, 4 There is no safety in a significant life; there is no significance in a safe life, 5 Chase freedom and you will get it all, chase security and you will lose it all, 6 The only way to kill fear is to have the courage to take action, 7 Security chasers living for the weekends lack purpose and the courage to chase freedom to live the life they always wanted. Blessings, Carlos Fontana

What does the mirror say?

7 DAILY NUGGETS: What does the mirror say?  1 Am I living the life I always wanted? 2 Would the kid then be proud of the person I am today? 3 Do I have the trust from the people I love most? 4 If I could change one thing today what would it be? 5 Would I be excited about starting to write my autobiography today? 6 How many people have I made feel better because of my friendship? 7 Is my job helping or hindering the pathway between my mind and my heart? Blessings, Carlos Fontana

How valuable is wisdom?

7 DAILY NUGGETS: What is the value of wisdom?  1 Understanding and wisdom are worth more than silver and gold, 2 Wise people continuously educate themselves, 3 Wise people are self-disciplined, 4 Wise people respond instead of reacting by exercising patience, 5 Wise people seek first to understand the situation, then to be understood when providing their perspective, 6 Wise people admit their mistakes, learn from them and take responsibility for fixing them, 7 Wise people are excellent in handling rejections and failures. Blessings, Carlos Fontana

Investment sense

7 DAILY NUGGETS: Investment sense:  1 From neck down we are all worth minimum wage, 2 How come then we spend most of our money there? 3 An expense helps someone else’s “bottom” line; an investment brings a return to your “top” line, 4 What percentage of your income are you currently investing to feed your brain? 5 Can you imagine yourself investing as much to feed your brain as you spend to feed your stomach? 6 No other money can be put to as productive work as the one to get your mind and heart connected, 7 People that invest in their brains become WHY people and they are never at the mercy of HOW people.  Blessings, Carlos Fontana

Worry and fear are lack of faith

7 DAILY NUGGETS: 1 Worry leads to fear, two unproductive states of mind, 2 Worry comes from lack of faith, 3 Faith is the belief of greater things to come, 4 Faith creates the expectancy of actions leading to productive outcomes, 5 No one has accomplished anything of lasting significance without faith, 6 Action kills fear, choking worries since worries cannot last in the presence of faith, 7 Love flows out of unwavering faith just like water flows out of a spring feeding a creek, rivers, and ultimately to ocean. Blessings, Carlos Fontana

Are you keeping score?

7 DAILY NUGGETS: 1 Caring trumps intelligence and hard work when it comes to getting results, 2 Focusing on needs and intentions is insufficient to produce measurable results, 3 Corrections based on results is often a must to improve anything, 4 Measuring results is the best tool for a learning organization, study the “scoreboard” history of Sam Walton and Wal-Mart, 5 Most organizations are compounding their failures by refusing to admit and learn from them, 6 Leadership is always accountable for results, 7 Your mission defines the scope of your responsibility. Blessings, Carlos Fontana

Giving creates entitlement and disables the receiver

7 DAILY NUGGETS: 1 The leading indicator for results in any organization is measured by people’s competence and capacity, 2 The nonprofit organizations must concentrate their resources for results instead of just giving, 3 Are the people you are serving changing their behavior and their hopes for a better future? 4 We can never help others by giving what they can conquer for themselves, 5 Never set personal goals for others, they are capable of setting realistic goals for themselves, 6 Without a profit there is no business in the long run, 7 Without measurable results, changed lives and conditions, there is no reason for any nonprofit to exist. Blessings, Carlos Fontana
Supper Nugget for week – Our Finest Hour. There comes a special moment in everyone’s life, a moment for which that person was born. That special opportunity, when he seizes it, will fulfill his mission – a mission for which he is uniquely qualified. In that moment, he finds his greatness. It is his finest hour - Winston Churchill.

We are all wounded people

1 We are all wounded people, 2 Our wounds are either physical, mental, spiritual or emotional, 3 How are we putting our woundedness in the service of others? 4 We all can be wounded healers when we become a source of healing, 5 Our humiliation can bring joy to others, 6 Our rejection can bring a community of joy, 7 Time heals if we actively work with our suffering for the source of forgiveness.  Blessings, Carlos Fontana

Too much lip service not enough responsibility

7 DAILY NUGGETS: 1 Cowards choose comfort and don’t do what they can do for the betterment of their communities, 2 Time to have a statue of responsibility to go along the statue of liberty? 3 Why we talk about friends so much in social media yet the average person has less true friends now than a decade ago? 4 Why there is so much talk about leadership yet leaders are rare in America? 5 Why there is so much talk about Christianity yet so few true Christians? 6 Why there is so much information about personal finance yet America is financially broke? 7 Why do we spend the most in the world on health and education yet we are lagging behind the developed world in health and education? Lip service. Blessings, Carlos Fontana
